LONDON, UK: FCBI, the company behind leading business intelligence brands including EyeforTransport, Ethical Corporation, New Energy Update, EyeforPharma and Insurance Nexus has launched a brand-new community dedicated to smart cities and urban development; IMPACT>CITIES. Its inaugural event will be held at The Mirage in Las Vegas on December 4 and 5 (https://bit.ly/2NRSYev).
IMPACT>CITIES will unite 500+ leaders and innovators from cities, investors, enterprises and technology providers to tackle the here and now opportunities that face the smart city market today. The opening day of the two-day conference agenda will feature four outcome-focused tracks themed around “Investment & Partnerships”, “Mobile & Frictionless”, “Healthy & Sustainable”, “Connected & Seamless”. These will examine the use-cases, technology and business models surrounding the urban mobility, energy, the built environment and urban IoT.
Day Two is focused on innovation and collaboration. It features the Urban Tech Showcase which will present the hottest start-ups disrupting the smart cities arena. Collaboration is provided in the form of The Scrums. Facilitated by a scrum master and built around a typical urban scenario, delegates will break into focused scrum groups to address the creation and delivery of a practical smart city strategy.
Gareth Ragg, Founder of IMPACT>CITIES commented: “We spent a lot of time speaking to the stakeholders in the smart cities ecosystem and they told us that there was a need for a new kind of event. One that rejected that there wasn’t money available for smart city innovation and that wasn’t solely focused on long term visions for the urban future.”
He added, “We took this information and created a smart cities event with a difference. As such IMPACT>CITIES will bring together not only cities and tech companies, but also the investors and enterprises who are financing and shaping cities and the built environment. Put simply, it’s about how to bring the money and how to get things done!”
