The main thing is that this shows the application isn’t just being downloaded onto people’s phones and sitting there for months. Instead, it’s being accessed regularly by those who install it.
In the US alone, TikTok had an approximate user count of around 82.2 million daily active users as of January 2025. And in the early part of 2026, this figure crossed 90 million daily users.

In 2025 alone, the app was downloaded 644 million times globally. And in Q1 2026, TikTok recorded 159.2 million downloads, showing the platform continues to attract new users even as growth rates slow in mature markets.
Two major exclusions shape the global picture. India permanently banned TikTok in June 2020, removing approximately 200 million users from the platform overnight. And China is excluded entirely because ByteDance operates the separate Douyin app domestically.
