We bring to you our favourite take-outs and summaries from the fascinating Corporate Social Media Summit NYC 2011. So much going on and so many great points but below are visitors who have returned and written about our event. Thank you!
Ten Big Brand Lessons
Rohit Bhargava and his The Influential Marketing Blog brings us his ten main points from ten large companies. He tells us all about what Coca Cola, Best Buy, Samsung and Pepsi want to teach us about (to name a few). The fascinating part is how different each company experience is with social media. Each has unique pitfalls they experience and contrasting advice in relation to their employees. Everyone is learning at the same time, noone know absolutely everything about this industry so if you couldnt get to the conference and missed out we highly recommend you read something like this to keep up to speed!
Legal lessons learned from the Corporate Social Media Summit
An especially interesting post for those legal eagles among us. This is nuggets from the Summit from companies who made points about keeping on the right side of the law, liability issues, and third party use. Whatever level you are and whatever company you work for it could do us all a favour to know about social media and legal policies. Perhaps our favourite tip is “become close friends with your lawyer”. Extremely important!
Dell: Business in a Networked World
Richard Binhammer of Dell was a ‘one to watch’ at the summit this year as he made great points about social media in connection to Dell’s experiences. This is a useful slideshare exploring the uncontrollable, pervasive and unpredictable nature of the web and how to maintain your followers. You can’t he says control them but you can influence them. Thanks Dell!
65 Tweetable Moments
Michael Brenner from Business2Community created a great post when he decided to share his ’65 most tweetable moments’ from the Summit. See his compilation from all the companies involved here
